Make a difference.

We believe God gave you unique skills and talents to help change the world around you. Serving is one of the best ways to meet people, develop relationships, and grow in your walk with Christ. Trust us, it’ll change your life!  We can’t wait to see what God does in your life. In our city, there are serving opportunities to fit your skills and your schedule!

Below are three great opportunities for you to make an impact. MY Place and PACT Ministries are two of Crossview’s local mission partners and the third option is with our City of North Mankato.

MY Place

Mankato Youth Place is committed to providing a nurturing environment that empowers youth to build the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to reach their full potential. MY Place provides youth with programs to support success in school, a healthy lifestyle, and character and leadership skills to prepare them to become contributing community members.

Below are two key opportunities for you to make a big impact.

  • During the week of August 22 YMCA and ACES don’t have programming, and we want to provide a safe place for students to go. Volunteering at MY Place will make that happen. During the week of August 22, you can volunteer anytime between 9:00am-2:00pm. You pick which date and how much time you want to serve (an hour, or several hours). Sign-up with SignUpGenius for volunteering by clicking the button below.

  • The other opportunity is to help students in our city prepare for school this coming fall. Not all families are able to afford a backpack and school supplies their child needs. About 75-100 backpacks are needed each year for students who are connected with MY Place. You can help by purchasing a backpack and filling it with supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils, scissors, glue, and pencils. Additional & optional items of any size and gender: new shoes, a new shirt/sweatshirt) and bringing it to church by August 22. Sign up below if you are bringing a backpack so we know how many to expect.

PACT Ministries

PACT Ministries stands for “People And Christ Together” and was started in 1994 by former Crossview Covenant Church pastor, Rev. Jim Dinsmore. PACT’s mission is to follow the example of Jesus by providing food for the hungry and clothes for the people. This happens by keeping clothing prices low and by providing food both at the Neighborhood Thrift Store and at the food distribution program called Food For All.

Below are two key opportunities for you to make a big impact.

  • Volunteer at Food For All, the fresh food distribution on the second Saturday every month at 8:00am-10:00am. We are encouraging people to try Saturday, August 13 at 8:00am. Volunteering may include handing out fresh produce, set-up, clean-up, and helping clients bring food to their vehicles. Food For All meets at Goodrich Construction (1700 3rd Ave, Mankato, MN 56001). Sign-Up by clicking the button below.

  • The Neighborhood Thrift Store garage needs reroofing this August and people who are able to help. Volunteering for this means more money can be spent on providing food for people in our city. The roof set up will be Friday evening on August 19 and the roof redone on Saturday, August 20 (weather permitting). It’s a 24’x36’ garage with 4/12 pitch (relatively low slope). We need people to do tear off and put on new shingles. Scaffolding is provided so that we can work safely at the roof edge. Having 6-8 people who have been on a roof and 2-4 on the ground would make a pretty effective crew. Some compressors and nail guns can be provided but if you have some of your own equipment that would be helpful. If interested please sign-up below.

City of North Mankato

The City of North Mankato has various projects that are needed to get done on Saturday, August 27 from 9am-12:00pm (this date has been updated). Some projects may include clean-up and trash pick-up.
