Hope in a Box

Hope in a Box

Access to basic needs like food, water, clothing, and shelter is essential for everyone. When these needs aren’t met, life becomes much harder, and even bigger challenges can feel impossible to overcome. At Crossview, we believe God calls us to care for one another, especially those facing difficult circumstances. That’s why we're hosting Hope in a Box, an event designed to support people in our community by providing essential care packages.

We’re excited to partner with two local organizations to make this event a reality:

  • MN Adult and Teen Challenge – We’ll be assembling care packages for women in recovery, many of whom are also mothers caring for their children while undergoing treatment.

  • Partners for Housing – We’ll also create care packages for individuals who are working towards housing stability.

We invite you to join us on February 22 to help shop for supplies and assemble these care packages. Together, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of our neighbors.

Event Schedule:

  • 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM – Gather at the WOW Zone for instructions

  • 10:00 AM – Head out to local stores to shop and assemble care packages

  • 11:30 AM – Return to the WOW Zone for a celebration and lunch

While an RSVP is not required, it does help ensure we have the right amount of food.

We look forward to seeing you there as we serve our community and share God's love through simple acts of kindness. Hope in a Box will be done with Community Covenant Church.

7. Prayer Box Craft & Prayer – Ruthan Miller

The “Prayer Box” concept is an inter-active devotional tool that is an easy, creative art challenge using mixed media. Ruthan Miller lives in Mankato with her husband Bob. She uses mixed-media collages as a devotional tool. Whether it is a prayer box or a visual journal it becomes an expression of her time with the Lord. Each participant will receive a dried starter to take home and start their own sourdough adventure!

10. When Trauma Interrupts: The Impact of Trauma on Child Development

This is even more true for kids who have experienced trauma, particularly abuse or neglect. In this workshop, we share information that every parent, teacher, youth group leader, and anyone who interacts with kids should know about how trauma impacts the process of childhood development. You will also learn specific techniques for effective and compassionate interactions with kids who have experienced trauma.

We will have two different classes after each service on Sunday, November 3: First Communion Classes at 10am & 11:30am & Believer Baptism Classes at 10am & 11:30am.

The First Communion Class explores what the Bible says about communion, what elements are used, and when to know if you're ready to begin taking it. Class is attended by the interested child and their parent/guardian. Adults determine when their child is ready for the first communion through prayer and their own discretion. Contact Pastor Aaron Thompson with questions. Register by clicking the button below. First Communion Sunday will be November 17, 2024 at 9am or 10:30am.

The Believer Baptism Class is for those who haven't been baptized and would like to make a profession of faith in Jesus to the church family. If you are interested in taking this significant step of faith and being baptized on Sunday, November 17, 2024 at 9:00 am or 10:30am please attend this class and fill out the form below. All Saints Sunday (9am & 10:30am)

All Saints Sunday (9am & 10:30am)

All Saints/All Souls is a key Feast Day of the Christian Church which happens each year around Nov 1st.  When we think of the word ”saint” we often think the heroes of our faith. In the New Testament the word ”saints” is used to describe all the people of the Christian community (both the living and the dead). For us at Crossview it is a specific time to remember all who have died in our community. During both services (9am & 10:30) on Sunday, November 3, 2024 we will take time to offer thanksgiving for the spiritual companionship of the saints in your life who have passed.

If you have questions please contact the church office via EMAIL or call 507-387-5606.

Your Own Bible Sunday (9am & 10:30am)

Your Own Bible Sunday (9am & 10:30am)

Here at Crossview we believe that parents are the BEST spiritual mentors of their children and we want to support you in this role! To help provide you with the resources you need, as well as invest in the faith journey of your child, we would like to present your 3rd-6th grader with their very own Bible.

We recognize that high school students (grades 9-12) may desire a Bible matching their maturity. Therefore, this is an opportunity for them to receive a new Bible too. The Word of God brings life, and we want our youth to have access to this life-transforming message as well.

We have set aside Sunday October 27th as a day to celebrate this spiritual journey and the importance of God’s Word.

If you have questions please contact Pastor Aaron or Melissa Jennings.
